Today, the NFL released the preseason schedule for all 32 NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens will play four preseason games, along with the additional Pro Football Hall of Fame game, as Ray Lewis is being inducted. Although many see the preseason as a boring prelude to the regular season, it is often fun to watch. Players have to battle it out for roster spots and fight for the future of their careers. We also get to see early snippets of new, highly touted players, added in free agency and the draft. Football is football, and Ravens football is Ravens football, even if it’s just the preseason.
The Baltimore Ravens will kick off the NFL preseason on August 2, at 8:00 PM ET. The Ravens will play against the Chicago Bears, in the annual Hall of Fame game. The Chicago Bears, like the Ravens, are having one of their former players, the great Brian Urlacher, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The following week, on August 9, at a time to be announced, the Ravens will host the Los Angeles Rams, at M&T Bank Stadium. On August 20, the Ravens travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts, at a to be decided time. In the fourth game of the preseason, the Ravens will go back to Miami for the second consecutive year during the preseason. The date has yet to be confirmed, along with the time of kickoff. Finally, the Ravens will host the Redskins for the second consecutive year. That game takes place on August 30.
All eyes will be on the rookies selected, and free agents signed by the Ravens. Many may watch to see if a preseason edition of the ongoing battle between Michael Crabtree and Aqib Talib takes place. Fans will also get to see Robert Griffin III play quarterback, along with the returns on preseason standouts Tim White, and Josh Woodrum.
